In Haiti, thousands of children are denied access to education simply because their families cannot afford school fees — often as little as $5–10 per month.
Lespwa Academy — "Hope Academy" in Haitian Creole — was founded on one belief: every Haitian child deserves access to quality education, regardless of their family's income.
Right now, we are personally responsible for 16 children — covering their school fees, basic supplies, and in many cases food. These are real children we know by name, whose families trust us to help them stay in school.
Our long-term vision is to build a completely free school in Haiti. Until we have the funding for that, we are partnering with existing schools and sponsoring children who would otherwise fall through the cracks.
We are also building a digital learning platform — Lespwa Academy — to bring free, quality education to every child in Haiti with a phone or computer. But the children we support today cannot wait for tomorrow.
We pay fees directly to partner schools in Haiti so children can attend without their families going into debt.
Many children in Haiti go to school hungry. We provide support for daily meals so children can focus on learning, not hunger.
